Abstract

Research that aims to identify the legal status of the Parliamentary Commissions of Inquiry continued through the analysis of decisions of the Supreme Court, forming a true "judicial doctrine" on the issue. Identifying the limitsdrawn by the judiciary the power to achieve legitimacy investigation, points to improvements still needed.

    Lawyer. PhD in Constitutional Law (PUC-SP). Master in Administrative Law (PUC-SP). Professor of the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Program in Environmental and International Law at the Catholic University of Santos (UNISANTOS). Participating Professor of the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Program (Master's and Doctorate) in Law at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE). Director, Coordinator and Professor of the Lato Sensu Postgraduate Program in Constitutional Law at the Higher School of Constitutional Law (ESDC). International advisor and visiting professor at the Interdisciplinary Legal Institute - IJI of the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto (Portugal). Professor of Constitutional Law at the Integrated Colleges of the Central Plateau (FACIPLAC). Director of the Brazilian Journal of Constitutional Law - RBDC, of ​​the Luso-Brazilian Interdisciplinary Notebooks and of the Notandum Journal.
