Abstract

For nearly seventy years, there has been an ongoing analysis of how to apply sustainability within global corporations. The challenge lies in developing ways to implement sustainability in companies without affecting current outcomes or compromising the development of future generations. The aim of this study is to analyze the ESG policies recommended by the National Supplementary Health Agency (ANS) and propose strategies for their effective implementation by health plans. The methodology involves a theoretical research approach, using descriptive methods based on scientific articles and official state websites, through bibliographic review and documentary research techniques. The review of scientific articles revealed that Brazilian companies are increasingly adopting ESG practices, including promoting diversity among employees and implementing environmental sustainability measures. The implementation of ESG practices in healthcare operators is essential for the sector’s success and sustainability, enhancing reputation, managing risks, attracting investors and talent, and ensuring regulatory compliance, thus contributing to a more resilient and ethical healthcare system.
